"It's only a model, build it!"

A challenge is hereby given to all who visit these pages.
Until midnight on December 31, 2008, I challenge each and every one of you to step beyond your personnel comfort zone of modeling or observing. If you have not completed a model in recent history, then from now until the date and time above, you are challenged to go the extra and complete a model. If you have never completed a model, this is your time too. And for all the rest of the folks that do complete and those who are even in the model de jure world... I challenge you to step beyond that comfort zone of always the same thing, no matter how perfect it is, and build something in a totally foreign (to you) format. If you build bread and butter hulls, build something with plank on frame. Always a kit builder, try a kit bashing or scratch. Think of building in a different scale from your norm. If radio control glass hulls are your thing, try you hand at a varnished half hull. In short, broaden your horizons and move a little gray matter by learning and doing it a bit differently for just once. It just could be a "Try it, you ...". If nothing else, it will most assuredly have you asking questions as to the "how in the heck do you do that", from others.
I propose to put a new section to this web site for this challenge. And will post your photos of work in progress along with your name and where you are located.
Suggestion: Choose a model subject that has personal interest to you. It gives you the extra edge along the way.
Rules: The rules are, there are no rules. Each of you are to choose your own newness.
Prizes: Each person that participates will automatically be self appointed to issue and receive the fun and joy of stretching beyond the same old same old and finding something new.
First come, first serve. All are welcome. Paid up Guild members get top billing.
