Kid Boats

This idea was instigated by members Pat & Ernie a few years ago. It was found that we could give away in excess of 200 small boats to the kids in a day when we demonstrate at nautical festivals.

Stock is standard 3/4" pin ripped into 5/16" strips. The card stock sail folded on the dotted lines (creating a mine and jib) and white glued to a round toothpick with the points cut off. Then let a kid choose a hull and a sail and insert the mast in hole drilled in the hull. And do not forget to congratulate the child on building their first model boat.

The hull is sanded and painted.
