Walter McGrath
Walter McGrath began building ship models in 2002 starting with a Grand Banks Dory and recently completed the 1637 Sovereign of The Seas. In between he has built four models of the Steamer Portland (36", 18", 9", and 4 1/2" model constructed in a bottle). These were displayed in the Wenham Museum for four months as part of the Fine Scale Modeling of Historical Events. In the past he built a 12 foot Hovercraft and two kyaks, he raced one around Cape Ann and placed third in the speed division. He is a Professional Engineer and after 38 years retired as a Projects Manager in the Medical Division of Hewlett Packard.
